What does music, community, dancing, and nature all have in common?

A good time.

From time to time, I intentionally take a well-deserved break from the digital and city world to venture in nature.

The best forms of adventure in my opinion are at music festivals.

From my adventures, I have come to realize the profound power of these experiences on the human psyche.

Here are the 3 Unique Energy forms that you need to experience.

The power of community

Music festivals are without a doubt a team game. They are usually held in open fields or even deserts, with a collage of tents and makeshift structures, all held together in perfect unison.

Stripped from all distractions of the outside world, the living grounds at a festival are a place where collaboration occurs.

People eat, sleep and come together to laugh, sing, or play together. A strong sense of community emerges from a literal nonexistent place in a matter of hours. It’s not uncommon to see strangers sharing food, camping resources, or staying up late chatting under a deep blue starry sky.

Music

There are far few things in life that bring such immense swells of sensations as music.

Music is energy, sound waveforms that carry information that we sense, feel, and induce emotions. Music is a medium in which the depths of your being understand, and can not always be put into words. It is the common denominator for everyone to celebrate and align to.

Music resonates with everyone differently but its power lies in its scalability in inducing similar feelings among many people.

I love this quote that captures the essence of music:

If art is how we decorate our space, then music is how we decorate our time. — Jean-Michel Basquiat

Dancing

Dancing is integral to our expression as human beings. In nature, we observe it in animals capturing a mate, or the slow blossoming of plants in their delicate form.

The magic of dance comes from the trance-like state we enter. While music can teleport us to emotional places, dancing is how your body reacts in expressing itself.

There is no right way to dance, only how your body wants to move.

The movement of the body in sync with music creates the release of tension. Then, when your body connects to the beat and melody it radiates outward energy that others will notice and feel also inspired to dance.

Put this all together and you have the makings to heal and recharge the soul.

I believe that in order to broaden your horizons within your mind, you must accept the other aspects of health that nourishes your soul in unconventional ways.

You know deep down to connect with the childlike expression music and dance brings. Combined with community, you have the workings to tap into your inner childlike genius.

Embrace the inner play and go dance in the forest.
